The International Young Scientists Conference on Materials Science and Surface Engineering (MSSE2021) was held at the Lviv Palace of Arts in September 22-24, 2021. The conference was organized by the Council of Young Scientists, Specialists and Postgraduates Students of the Karpenko Physico-Mechanical Institute of the NAS of Ukraine with the support of the Directorate of the PhMI NASU, PhMI Trade Union Committee; "Techno-Resource", "Gazothermik", "Lvivantikor", Company "Electro" and Corporation "Energoresurs-invest". It should be noted at the first time the Conference was supported by the program “Support package for development of conference industry in Lviv” The organizers would like to express the great appreciation to all sponsors, partners and participants for their interest and active participation in the conference.

The conference program has been fully completed. It was widespread attended by young scientists and specialists from Ukraine - Kyiv, Dnipro, Kharkiv, Lviv, etc., and from abroad - the United States of America, Mexico, Poland, France and Iran, who are engaged in research in the materials science and related disciplines. In general, young scientists represented 24 Ukrainian and 9 foreign academic institutions and universities. Totally 52 oral reports were presented by young scientists.
